A Brief History

The Bogotá Bible Institute initially began in 2004 at La Serena Church, where 25 pastors, aspiring pastors and church leaders graduated in the first class in 2007.  In 2008, the Bible Institute moved to a new location in the Modelia neighborhood of Bogota.  Since then, three more classes of students have completed the courses and graduated from the Bible Institute. Presently, the fifth class of students are taking courses and are working towards their graduation in 2021.  The Bogota Bible Institute offers a four-year pastoral and ministry training curriculum, where students come for intensive 10 day courses every 6-8 weeks, and over four years they will complete 18-20 courses.  During a typical ten-day course, the classes meet on two full weekends, a holiday day, and every weeknight during the week.  Projects are assigned to students which they must complete before and after each course.  Four classes of students have graduated and the fifth class is taking courses at the present time:

2004 to 2007 – Courses taught at the La Serena church facility: 25 people graduated.

2008 to 2011 – Courses taught in Modelia: 23 people graduated.

2011 to 2014 – Courses taught in Modelia: 20 people graduated.

2015 to 2017 – Courses taught in Modelia: 20 people graduated.

2018 to present – Courses being taught in Modelia:  The fifth group of students are taking courses and are projected to graduate in 2021.

88 students have graduated in the first four classes and about 70 more students have audited classes and served as “Timothys”.
