The first quarter of 2013 was a time of immense growth for World Reach.  At the La Roca Christian School we added new classrooms, teachers, and even a new grade of students!  In Honduras, Tim Hagler has begun work with Comunicafe and Educafe, engaging the community to share the Gospel through the use of a coffee house and his assistance to the education system in Honduras.  God has provided for our ministries all over the world abundantly, and we can not thank our supporters enough for their prayers and giving.  Below, we’ve put links to the Quarterly Field Reports for the first quarter of 2013.  If you’d like to learn more information about any particular field, look under the Fields tab or search for any of the individual Missionaries.  Also, our Facebook page is updated daily with news from across every field.  We are excited for all that God has accomplished through our ministries so far, and we are looking forward to all God has planned in the future.

David Hancock is one of our interns serving at the La Roca Christian School near Lima, Peru, as a teacher and missionary.He comes to World Reach from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he graduated from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte with a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching.

David is currently teaching English as a Second Language to the children at La Roca Christian School, while also guiding them in their Christian walk.

David will be teaching in Peru for the remainder of the Peruvian school year (until December 2013) before he returns to the United States.

Recently, as I was teaching at our Bible Institute in Cordoba, Argentina, I was once again impressed by the Lord as to what the Lord expects from His children in terms of our relationship with Him.  The following are some of those impressions the Lord reminded me of during those wonderful days in northern Argentina.  To God be the Glory!

    Let me start off by saying my name is David Hancock or “Mister Daver” as the kids call me. I am here to get to know the people in Peru by telling them what a privilege it is to know our gracious and loving Saviour. I am here because several years ago God, in His incredible ways, set me on this wonderful path to serve Him with complete surrender in ministry in a different culture and place to share with others what Christ has shown me in His Word and my relationship with Him. I came here before, a couple of years ago, and with peace in my heart knew this was the next step He wanted me to take. Sixteen years ago I would never imagine I would be here. However, Proverbs 16:9 shows that “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his course.” After several missions trips, here I am ready to be used by Him in whatever way He so sovereignly chooses.

    I invite you to come along with me as I am now seeking Him on where He wants me to spend my time outside of the classroom. You never know where that next place will be!

Beth Stearn is one of our most recent interns, working as a missionary and teacher at the La Roca Christian School in Peru.  She comes to us from Tukwila, Washington and worked in retail management before her decision to join World Reach.  Her current work at the school consists of teaching English as a Second language while also helping the faculty guide the children in their spiritual walk.  She is working at the school for two Peruvian school years (March 2013 – December 2014) before she returns to the United States.
