• Kenya, located in eastern Africa, has a fertile plateau, desert and mountains, and is bordered by Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and the Indian Ocean.
• The capital city is Nairobi.
• Kenya claimed independence from Britain in 1963 and has a republic form of government, led by a president.
• Kenya’s economy is predominantly agricultural, with light industries and also tourism
  industry.
• Recession, foreign debt and mismanagement have eroded a good economy.
• The population of Kenya is more than 40 million. A large majority of Kenyans profess to be Christian.
• Evangelical Christians make up about 36% of the population.
• There are 2,274 missionaries in Kenya representing 175 agencies from 30 countries.
