The Ministry of World Reach in Macedonia

• Macedonia is a landlocked Balkan state, which is located in southern Europe and surrounded by Greece, Albania, Montenegro (Yugoslavia) and Bulgaria.
• The capital city is Skopje.
• Macedonia declared its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 and has a parliamentary democracy.
• Macedonia is one of the poorest regions of the former Yugoslavia.  It is heavily reliant on agriculture, mining and manufacturing.
• The population of Macedonia is 2,200,000.  50% of the population is Orthodox, 40% is Muslim and .01% is Christian.
• Approximately 880,000 of the population in Macedonia are Albanian with about 40% of these Albanians being Muslim.
• Evangelical Christians make up .01% of the population.
• There are 47 missionaries in Macedonia representing 10 agencies from 4 countries.
