• Ukraine. located in Europe, is a flat, fertile, forested plain and is bordered by Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova, Hungary and the Black Sea.
• The capital city is Kiev.
• Ukraine was under communist rule for years, but is now an independent country seeking to establish a democratic government.
• Ukraine is rich in natural resources with reserves of coal, iron ore, oil and natural gas. It has one of the world’s largest agricultural production.
• The population of Ukraine is 47,425,336. The Orthodox church is the predominate denomination.
• Evangelical Christians make up 2.7% of the population.
• There are 463 missionaries, representing 70 agencies from 22 countries.
