God called Francisco & Martita Berrios from their homeland of El Salvador to serve Him in Romania in 2001. Their ministry in Romania is an extension of the ministry they had in their sending church, Miramonte Baptist, where Francisco had been Missions Pastor since 1997.
Francisco and Martita are engaged in Biblical counseling, evangelism, developing small groups, teaching and preaching in support of the Hope Baptist Church ministry in Brasov.
Although Francisco and Martita’s responsibilities include preaching, teaching, discipleship, and administration, their major focus id counseling church members as well as non-believers in the community. Francisco facilitates for the Consortium of pastors from three evangelical denominations in Brasov; the Pastor has defined their purpose as follows:
The purposes of the common ground of collaboration between churches within the Evangelical Alliance in Brasov and its surroundings are building relationships between churches, building intentional personal relationships between leaders of the churches, and to evangelize Brasov and its surroundings.
Martita also works in women’s ministry and both lead in couples ministry, providing discipleship and counseling. Her ministry as Bible Counselor has developed in the most recent years by word of mouth from those who have been in counseling with her, crossing even denominational lines in the community and also there are non believers that have been referred to her.
Francisco and Martita both graduated from the Miramonte Theological Seminary, Post degree in missions by Miramonte Baptist Seminary and have the experience and training for Biblical Counseling. They also lead the Berrios Missionary Counseling Project in El Salvador, Argentina, and Romania.
They have two children, Keren, who went to be with the Lord in August 2007, at the age of 21, and Gerson, born in 1987 and now married and leaving in the US.
