A New Chapter of Ministry
Dear Friend of World Reach,
This is perhaps the most challenging letter that Carol and I have ever penned. As the title says, “the Lord is writing a new chapter in our lives” is true and as you can imagine, we are on an “Emotional Roller Coaster” for sure. By the Grace of God, the Lord has allowed us to “Tag Along” with Him in full-time ministry for almost 5 decades/50 years (2024). For some time, we’ve known this day was coming and have tried to prepare for its eventuality. (Tim is 80 and Carol will turn 80 in June.) The time is now here…no, we are not retiring from ministry, just assuming other responsibilities within the mission for the immediate and foreseeable future! After several years of much prayer, the Lord has led us to the following “Exit Strategy” which has our Board of Directors’ full approval.
CAROL – Beginning this month, January 2022, Carol will officially turn over her accounting and all related responsibilities to David Duffee. David has been on staff for more than 3 years, and Carol has been training him for almost a year to fill her position. David is now ready to assume her role.
Carol will remain on staff full-time as Lead Consultant for all accounting activities, income and expenses, for the foreseeable future. Beyond that
and going forward, she will continue hosting World Reach furloughing missionaries (staying in our home) while serving the needs of our staff (both locally and globally) and assisting in the international office. Carol’s vast experience will continue to be used in multiple leadership and administrative roles.
TIM – Beginning this month, January 2022, Tim will begin training his successor, Dr. Robert Wilson. Bobby has been with the mission for more than 22 years and has a wealth of experience in leadership and Biblical Teaching, Training and Preaching. Bobby will “Shadow” Tim for one year during which time he will learn about all the inner workings of the mission and what the duties and responsibilities are of the Director/CEO of World Reach.
Although Bobby is well known and respected by all of our World Reach Family, during 2022 he will travel with Tim to the fields the mission serves for a more “Formal Handoff” to our staff.
In January of 2023, Tim will officially “hand the baton” to Bobby tasking him with leading this Mission Ministry for another 40 Years of “Kingdom Building!” At that time, Bobby will become the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of World Reach and Tim will remain on staff in an Emeritus Role serving as Lead Consultant for the Mission and the Board. Additionally, Tim will continue teaching overseas and assist in other areas of leadership within the mission.
World Reach has had strong Godly Leaders since our founding 40 years ago (the Prewitts have been greatly blessed in this area) and the future looks even brighter with this “new generation” of missionaries the Lord is raising up that have joined with us in “Kingdom Building” in 12 countries on 3 continents around the world! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
YOU – The Prewitts’ are so grateful for your faithful prayer and financial partnership down through the years and the huge blessings you provide us personally and also this mission ministry. This is the perfect picture of the “Trinity of Missions” as Carol would say, “The Lord, you, and the Prewitts.”
We ask that you continue your vital partnership, thus enabling us to go on serving the Lord with you in these critical “ministry support roles”!
