INTRO In 1990’s the East Association of Evangelical Churches in Honduras had 5 pastors. Only 3 of them had received theological education and were trained.
HISTORY: HOW DID THE MOBILE BIBLE INSTITUTE START?
In 1994 Pastor Roberto Marriaga started a Bible study to train pastors in the area. He invited three other teachers of the same association to teach with him. Due to the lack of resources, Efrain Almendares who was the president of the association at that time, went to Siguatepeque to look for people who could help. There he met Pastor Jorge Espinal who was the representative for World Reach in Honduras. They talked and agreed that World Reach was going to be responsible for the training of the leaders in the association.
In 1995 World Reach started officially what we know as Mobile Bible Institutes
The first class graduation was on Nov 11th, 1996.
From 1995 to 2019 six classes have graduated with a total of 133 students graduated.
40 of these graduates are active in pastoral ministry. Many more are elders, deacons and Sunday school teachers in their local churches.
22 students are currently studying at the Bible Institute.
