World Reach is excited to welcome nurse Reuben Kameti to our staff in Muthetheni, Kenya! Reuben Kameti joins World Reach’s Kenya Medical Clinic in Muthetheni as a senior licensed nurse in community health. Reuben will oversee the opening of the newly renovated medical clinic in July 2020 and will provide basic health care services to the Muthetheni community.
Reuben brings with him a wealth of knowledge and wisdom gained from 35+ years’ nursing experience in community health. Throughout his nursing career, Reuben has served as Nursing Officer In-Charge in several clinics throughout Kenya, including: Maralal District Hospital; Machakos District, Mbembani Dispensary; Mwala District, Miu Health Center; Mwala District, Muthetheni Health Centre; and most recently at Mwala Sub County Kyaimu Dispensary. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Medicine from Kirinyaga University in 1984. In 2008, Reuben was awarded the “Advanced Higher Diploma in Community Development & Project Management, major in Community Health” from Bethany International Leadership Trainers in association with Grace Evangelical Theological Seminary. In 2014, Reuben successfully completed a two-year “Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) Upgrading Course” through eLearning at African Medical Research Foundation in Nairobi.
After his distinguished career, Reuben has decided to “retire” from his career with the government and is “rehiring” with World Reach to use his nursing skills and spiritual gifts to help World Reach Kenya meet both the physical and spiritual needs in the communities surrounding Muthetheni, Kenya. His attitude towards nursing and ministry shows how God might use Reuben in this new position to spread the Gospel to those who haven’t heard, and strengthen the church in Muthetheni. “In my profession as a nurse and as a born again believer, I have found contentment whenever I meet a person, and serve them, and share the Gospel of the Lord. Eventually they appreciate that the Lord has power to transform and change people’s lives for His own glory,” Reuben said in his testimony. With this attitude, and Reuben’s commitment to both physical and spiritual healing will change many lives for God’s glory, strengthen the church, and encourage the saints.
Reuben is an active member of the Gospel Revival Center church, where he serves as a deacon. He is married and has three children. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Reuben and praying for him as he embarks on this mission to serve those in need in Kenya, both physically and spiritually.
