Kenya Medical Clinic Grand Reopening

The World Reach Medical Clinic in Muthetheni, Kenya officially reopened on July 1, 2020. Muthetheni Area Health Officer Mark Mutuku, Cheif of Muthetheni Rapheal and his Deputy Officer, World Reach Nurse Reuben Kameti, and his wife, Medical Officer Renee Kameti were all in attendance for the celebration, along with several patients who would become the first patients accepted for the reopening.

“Today is a big day… through the power of God we have achieved our goal, to us it is a big milestone. I think the clinic is going to cut down most of the communicable diseases around, which can be preventable,” Mutuku said. The clinic will focus on providing basic medical care to people in need in Muthetheni and Machakos County. “It is also a milestone to open a clinic during this COVID-19 session (outbreak), so we thank the Lord and also the World Reach community which has sponsored the achievement of this clinic,” Mutuku continued. We echo Mutuku’s enthusiasm to see how God uses this clinic to bring both physical healing and spiritual growth to the Muthetheni community.

Muthetheni Chief Raphael added, “First we want to thank Almighty God for giving us this opportunity and for enabling this clinic to open. I want to thank the World Reach Ministries International for honoring the promise. it made to us.” When the Kenya Medical Clinic had been shut down, our General Director, Tim Prewitt, asked what the clinic needed to reopen. World Reach staff and partners in Kenya and the U.S. worked tirelessly to ensure that each of the requirements that were outlined by the Muthetheni government were met to reopen, working closely with Health officer Mutuku to ensure that we could continue serving the people of Muthetheni. “They (World Reach) told us that they would do their best to meet the minimum requirement that needs to be fulfilled, and that has been done,” Rapheal continued. “So on behalf of the community of Muthetheni, we greatly appreciate this, because we are going to continue getting the benefits as when the clinic was running.”

We at World Reach want to thank every generous donor who contributed to this effort, and ask for your continued prayer as Nurse Reuben Kameti begins accepting patients and using this clinic bring the Gospel to the unreached, and healing to the ill.
