World Reach Bible Institute Coordinators and Leaders Meet to Transform Bible Institute Curriculum

From January 22nd to 24th, World Reach Bible Institute coordinators and leaders who minister throughout Latin America met in Birmingham, Alabama, to discuss how we as a mission can improve our methods in teaching and training pastors and Christian leaders. Missionaries in attendance included Director of Bible Institutes in Latin America Bobby Wilson, Peru Field Director Juan Barrientos, General Director Tim Prewitt, and BI teachers Pete Simpson, Jon Simpson, Brad Taylor, and Tony Meinhardt.

The three-day meeting focused on new ideas to better communicate with students using less lectures and more methods that increase retention rates. Meeting participants also discussed new ways to better teach and train various cultures, among several other topics. Required reading for the meeting was Transforming Theological Education by Perry Shaw and ideas such as the “Flipped Classroom Model” were discussed. Meeting participants returned to their fields earlier this week, minds filled with new ideas and inspiration.

2020 promises to be a great year for World Reach Bible Institutes, as new locations are being considered and new classes are taking shape. We hope you’ll join us in praying for God’s guidance and wisdom for the leaders of these Bible Institutes, including the men who attended this meeting, as they strive to provide the best teaching and training possible to the next generation of pastors and Christian leaders in Latin America and around the world.
