Juan and Eva Barrientos

Juan and Eva Barrientos are missionaries serving near Lima, Peru in the community of Jose Galvez.  Juan has served as World Reach-Peru’s Field Director since inception in 1998, and he has oversight of all World Reach staff and projects in Peru.

Juan and Eva planted Iglesia Christiana La Roca (The Rock Christian Church) in Jose Galvez, where Juan is pastor.  This church serves as the model for the couple’s other church planting efforts in Peru.

The Barrientos’ ministry through the local church includes evangelism, discipleship, church planting, leadership training, hosting short-term mission teams, music ministry, school ministry, pastoral counseling ministry conducting Bible clubs and youth camps for children and young people, and women’s ministry.

Juan is a visionary leader.  He started not only La Roca Christian Church, but also La Roca Christian School (opened 2005), La Roca Prenatal Clinic (opened 2007), and La Roca Medical Center (opened 2009).

Juan is also very involved with World Reach Bible Institute-Peru, which educates and trains national pastors and graduated its first class in 2003.

Juan and Eva’s goal is to see more local churches planted throughout the country of Peru and more lives won to Christ.  Their strategy is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with children and young people through Bible clubs, discipleship, counseling, camps, conferences, and La Roca Christian School.  They hope to then reach the children’s parents through these programs.  Their strategy is also to share the Good News with teenage girls and women through La Roca Prenatal Center.  World Reach uses La Roca Prenatal Center as a vessel to encourage the choice of life and to spread God’s love to young women throughout their pregnancy. God has blessed their lives with their daughter, Priscila, who is being prepared in music to serve the Lord.

Juan and Eva founded La Roca Christian School in 2005.

La Roca Christian School was started with the purpose of meeting the educational and spiritual needs of Peruvian children in the community of Jose Galvez, where no bilingual Christian school existed. The school not only provides bilingual Christian education to the children of Peru but also serves as an important evangelistic outreach tool for the children’s families. La Roca is the only bilingual Christian school in this area, and it impacts the lives of children and families with the Gospel of Christ.

Juan and Eva also founded the La Roca Prenatal Clinic in 2007 and the La Roca Medical Center in 2009, providing medical care to those in need in the area around Jose Galvez.
