Peter & Fany Simpson

Missionary in Honduras

Ministry

Peter has served in Honduras since the mid 90’s. During the first few years of ministry, he taught in a bilingual Christian school, and he was youth pastor of his local church for 12 years. For 25 years, he has participated in the training of church leaders through World Reach’s Bible Institutes and related programs.

Peter serves as Honduras Field Director for our team of World Reach missionaries, overseeing ministry logistics and providing care for our Honduran Team.

Peter has served in his local church as one of the pastors –  preaching and teaching on a regular basis and discipling men – for more than two decades.

One particularly exciting project is the work our World Reach Honduras Team is doing with the Lenca church in Guajiquiro, La Paz, Honduras. Our Honduran Team is working closely with Lenca pastor, Jesus Corea, and his group of leaders. The Team is assisting with Lenca evangelistic efforts in 15 villages. The Team is also training a group of 20 church leaders – men and women who will be pastors, teachers and church leaders  – in the 10 Lenca communities they represent. We are partnering to create a long-term strategy for community development in these Lenca communities.

Testimony

Peter:
I first placed my faith in Christ as a young child, during a Sunday School class when I was just seven years old. That moment planted a seed that grew steadily throughout my childhood and teenage years, as I deepened my understanding of the Bible and developed the habits of prayer and Scripture reading. Then, in the summer after graduating high school, I sensed a clear and compelling call from God—an invitation to step into full-time ministry.

About Me

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy acting like our Creator by creating beauty through photography and gardening.

What is an adventure you would like to go on?

I would like to take my family through some of the national parks in the western United States. We enjoy living in the mountains of Honduras, but I would like them to experience the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains.

Who from the Bible would you like to meet in heaven?

I would like to speak with Peter. Since I was a young person, I always admired his boldness and identified with his blunders. We don’t know much about his ministry after Christ’s ascension. I wonder what it was like.

Favorite Scripture

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
